 On 1st November,its gonna be Dewali(Deepavali) celebration….Well,the students are all real excited bout this holiday esp those from the north…Awal-awal already they bunk class in order to ga back home.So class has been rather empty this past few days…even worst today…I doubt there will be anyone in Community Medicine class later in the afternoon(Dont it sux to have classes on Saturday too) Anyways,its so nice to see all the locals going bac to the home town..It kinda feel like in ktt where i see all my frens going bac home for the weekend and the only place i could go to for the weekend was my aunts place or fren’s hse…But at least ill have more time to really sit down and study…Since exams is next month and i have been doing nothing but fooling around or simply wasting time…haha…
       Yesterday,there was a dewali party organized by the seniors(the seniors here damn mengada-ngada,like to force us to go for this kind of functions and act as if they so great)well,i thought it was gonna be fun since they are having fireworks display and later a dance party…so why not rite???just to see how they celebrate dewali…so i went together with meng yee,loges,wendy,mei Xuan,hong ling and wan ping.They started off with sum praying thing called pooja…i didnt take part but just watch from far…then they started off with the firework display….it was really nice!!!Since we are all in the field and they are playing the fireworks around us so its as though the fireworks was right above our heads…if u r unlucky u might get sum of the ashes falling on u…On a personal note,i felt alot of ashes falling on me last nite…i dont know whether i was just plain lucky or everybody felt it but are so used to all these so thats y never mention anything bout it…i was rather paranoid at first,scared that the fire will fall on me and burn my hair or clothes…haha…i know i was being such a chicken…but after that,after our neck starts to hurt….i really enjoyed watching the fireworks…haha…
      After the firework display which felt like ages,after starting a camp fire,the music kicked in and the dj start doing his stuffs(no play play ok…the dj professional one-dj of mangalore….CRAP!!!!)all the indians started running to the dancefloor(a basketball court) and started jumping up and down…well,i would really want to join them dance the whole nite but the thing is…..they were playing hindi song the whole time!!!i did went into the dance floor a few times but it felt weird coz we all cant move like the indians do!!!!haha…i guess we all need more practice in shaking our bodies…hahah….must watch more hindi next time and try emulate them…
Man,they were all sweating and their sweaty bodies kept rubbing on me…just thank God i havent bath yet that time….
    After coming back to my hostel…i realize that whole party thing was a real waste of time!!!And grace was happily eating buffet in a hotel that time with devi,jacintha etc…while we had to eat the awful mess food…:(…Never again will i go to this kind of functions….they didnt even give us yummy food ok???
    I heard fr the locals that dewali is famous for its candies and lights…and they told us that we must try the candies during this time….So i guess ill try enjoy the indian sweets during dewali…want me to pack sum bac for u???

        Omigosh,is that India??? My heart raced like mad as i start to see Bangalore’s lights from the plane…The past 2 yrs i’ve only talked about coming to India and now that the day has finally come…Nervous and excited i was…The feeling was totally overwhelming…a whole new place,new culture,meeting new people and staring a whole new life….And i was ready to face any challenge that was to come my way…
     Now that im here in Mangalore for 1 month,i can say that i survived this far The past 1 month has not been smooth flowing for us but as time goes by i guess this place grew on us…This place isn’t so bad after all Infact its better than what i expected it to be lor…Before coming here I was warned by many people to be careful when u go out esp be careful with the beggars around…But truthfully,so far,i havent seen any beggars around this place…And also so far i havent suffered from any diarrhea…I guess ppl here are concern bout the food here and maybe so far all i ate was at restaurants or hotels if not at our mess(like cafeteria)…The other day me,Meng Yee,Grace,Wendy,Hong Ling,Mei Xuan and Wan Ping when to eat at this restaurant near our hostel-Foodland…Since we havent ate any green veg eversince we came here we ordered for green veggie-Paneer Palak…when the food came,yea,it was green alright but i dont see the veg anywhere…haha…despite the look of the dish,it tasted nice.
the picture shows the food we ate that day…haha…the green dish is paneer palak.the red one is sum chicken dish…The road conditions here is really bad…Damn dusty and damn noisy…pollution everywhere!But i must salute the drivers ere…The way they drive is excellent…As as long as u honk,any possible way of driving is possible-even driving on the other side of the road…Its really easy to go around the place with an auto…Now this auto really looks like those tuk tuk u get in Thailand…

       As far as studies is concerned,life has been damn hectic…so much studying to do and ther is just isnt enuff time for anything else…sumtimes i wish i have 30hrs a day…at least i can finish all my studies….most of the time i’ll feel like an idiot in class i dont know a single thing and the locals can answer  every question the lecturer ask…and who said medic was easy???So those who wish to be doctors,u better think twice before going for it…hahah….
